underwhelming stay. somewhat disappointing.
visible dirtslow service
The room felt a bit neglected. I noticed some cobwebs near the bed. the bathroom also needed a better scrub around the edges of the bath. Dirt was visible. the evening meal was tasty, but overpriced and the service felt quite slow. i expected more attention to detail, especially for the price i paid.

the staff were helpful and polite i had a wonderful canal view from the room the hotel's location allowed easy walks into town and drives to the dales it was a relaxing experience. the room was big and very clean i especially enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at the restaurant. it made for a pleasant weekend.

the rendezvous suite proved excellent. the room included a large living room and numerous single beds. it was tidy. the suite was well appointed.
i noticed threadbare carpet on the stairs. this was before entering the room. this gave me my first warning.

breakfast offered a good selection of food
the gym was quite disappointing i found the air quality poor there was a musty smell and the jacuzzi was out of order for months the changing rooms were not well kept either with broken lockers and mysterious puddles these conditions made the spa area feel more like a cautionary tale than a place to relax also the equipment looked worn with torn patches adding to the overall sense of neglect
